Grant Description
Grants of up to $20,000 to USA nonprofit organizations, government entities, and public institutions for impactful projects. Applicants must submit a letter of intent prior to submitting a full application. Focus areas include education, health, poverty alleviation, and the environment.

The mission of the Tomberg Family Philanthropies is to support well run and effective programs that make a difference in the areas of poverty alleviation, the environment, health and education. The focus is on supporting projects that help their recipients build capabilities themselves that will last far beyond the end of the specific project.

Due to the limited size and number of grants, the Foundation normally is not able to support ongoing operations of existing programs. The Foundation looks for funding opportunities such as pilot programs, demonstration projects, support of new programs, capacity building or evaluations that allow them to make a larger difference with limited funds than would be possible otherwise.

The Tomberg Family Philanthropies have developed a Grant Qualification Assessment tool to help you determine if your organization would be a good fit for our grants. Please take the Assessment before you request support.

If you pass the Assessment, you will be provided with a link to the grant submission system where you can create or update your organization’s account. It is suggested that you do this before the grant submission period begins.

Any organization considering a grant application should first submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). All organizations, including those that have received funding in the past, must submit LOIs if they want to be considered for funding.
