Grant Description
Grants of up to $15,000 to Ohio nonprofit education programs and projects in eligible regions to help students succeed. Funding focuses on healthcare initiatives and education. These grants are intended to enhance social and emotional growth, academic success, and support children and families with medical and behavioral services. Eligible proposals offer long-term solutions for residents, particularly in Cuyahoga County.

The Ginn Foundation will support children, their education, their families, and organizations that provide education and healthcare services. Ginn’s grant focus is on the following:

  • Education:
    • Programs that support academic success
    • Programs that support social-emotional growth in students to help them excel in school
    • In-school and after-school programs that supplement academic learning
  • Healthcare:
    • Programs that support families and children with medical and behavioral health services.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may apply.

• Current, former and new grantee organizations are welcome to apply
• The Ginn Foundation will not be the sole or principal founder of pilot or new programs
• Organizations that have received five consecutive grants from the Ginn Foundation should not apply for two years

Ineligible
Generally, grants are not made to:

- Individuals
- For-profit/commercial organizations
- Endowment campaigns, annual appeals or membership drives
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Travel for individuals or groups when travel is the proposal’s primary focus
- Community services such as police and fire protection, road repair or snow removal
- Staff positions for government agencies
- Capital projects for hospitals, nursing homes or institutions of higher education
- Publications, audiovisual projects or video productions. However, consideration may be given when they fall within a promising project.
